There are some set behaviors for Windows that cannot be changed easily. For instance, whenever you open a folder in Windows Explorer in Windows Vista and Windows 7, it automatically detects the contents of a folder and shows you the complete contents after the scan is finished. This process can take a lot of time if there are a large number of files included in the folder. By default, you cannot turn this feature off. Likewise, when you delete a file, it doesn’t get removed from your hard disk at once. Choosing the delete option only moves it to the Recycle Bin, and to directly remove it from your computer, you have to use theShift + Delete combination. Windows doesn’t allow you to change this option to set complete removal as the default option, either. Furthermore, sometimes when you run Windows Update to install and download new updates from Microsoft for your operating system, it automatically reboots the computer in the end.ExplorerView is an application for Windows that takes care of all these issues and allows you to tweaksome basic functions. Keep reading to find out more about ExplorerView.
It provides you with a simple interface with different options to tweak some basic Windows functions according to your preference. The application lets you Disallow Explorer to Auto-Detect Folder Contents, which helps you avoid the sometimes very frustrating wait to view and access the files in a folder. Moreover, it allows you to disable the Preview Pane and Details Pane of Windows Explorer. Further options include Fix Windows Update Error, Disable Automatic Reboot with Windows Update, Automatically Alphabetize the All Programs Menu and Disable Recycle Bin. Be careful when you are choosing the Disable Recycle Bin option, because when activated, anything you delete will be directly removed from your computer, so other than a recovery program, you will not be able to retrieve your deleted data. The Start Menu Delay option allows you to specify a custom setting for the delay experienced while opening menus in Start Menu.
To activate the options, select all the ones you require and click OK.
ExplorerView was originally written for Windows Vista, but nevertheless works on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7.
